BOOKS ABOUT MOMS

Our library has some books about mothers.  Some are books kids can read and others are books for parents to read to the youngsters.

Balian – Mother’s  Mother Day
It’s Mother’s Day – a time for visits and gifts – and a family of field mice plan to see their mother and take her gifts.

Bunting – The Mother’s Day Mice
The little mice go into the meadow to find their mother a gift and the littlest mouse comes up with a most unusual gift.

Baker – I Love You Because You’re You
A mother’s love for a child no matter how he feels or what he does.

A small bird hatches and doesn’t see his mother so he sets off to find his mother.  He asks the different animals if they are his mother.  The end of the search joins chick and mother.

A mother goose goes traveling with little goose.  They are fine as long as they are together.

The mother realizes that birth is a miracle and there may be times when the child will do things for the last time, like the last bottle, the last hours of kindergarten, the last time the child would catch a frog, the last time the mother would help the child with homework as the child grows and leaves home.

Two boys discover their mother loves them equally – but in different ways.
